Replacing saturated with polyunsaturated fat

On 19th May 2017, another paper challenging current dietary fat guidelines was published. This one emanated from Deakin University, Australia, and was written by a researcher named Steven Hamley. The paper was called “The effect of replacing saturated fat with mostly n-6 polyunsaturated fat on coronary heart disease: a meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials” and it can be seen in full here.

In this newsletter, I’ll give the context for this paper and then explain: what should have been done; what Hamley did; the conclusions he found and my take on it all.
