Tesco reducing sugar in soft drinks & what has salt got to do with it

I was on the Victoria Derbyshire show on Friday 22nd May 2015, speaking to Joanna Gosling about an Action on Sugar press release about Tesco plans to reduce sugar in their own-label soft drinks. Tesco (having had a tough ride recently) had an anti-sugar organisation doing their PR for them and even sending an esteemed professor to go on day time BBC TV to describe the Tesco move as “brilliant” – publicity that money can’t buy.

Action on Sugar and I should be on the same side. We both think that sugar is a, if not the, key issue in public health. Where we disagree is on trying to work with the industry or doing what needs to be done whether the industry likes it or not.
