Gary Taubes\u2019 latest book The Case Against Sugar, <\/em>was published over the festive season and, as promised in the last newsletter of 2016, here\u2019s my take on it...<\/p>\n

What if it\u2019s all been a big fat lie?<\/strong><\/p>\n

On 7 July 2002, the New York Times published an article written by Taubes called \u201cWhat if it\u2019s all been a big fat lie?<\/a>\u201d For the first time, someone had pieced together a coherent story connecting Atkins with public health dietary advice and Ancel Keys with carbohydrates and insulin. It was to prove a ground-breaking moment in the way that many people thought about food and obesity.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n
