When will public health authorities realise the inconsistency in their sugar advice?

Mintel kicked off 2014 by giving us the statistics on dieting in 2013. Apparently 65% of women and 44% of men tried to lose weight in the year up to September 2013. It was interesting to see the methods favoured - 60% prioritised exercise over dietary changes. 49% tried to cut back on fatty foods, 48% went for smaller portions and 48% tried to cut back on sugar.
